The present master's thesis is dedicated to independent concert organizers in Vrhnika and the measure of the impact of local cultural policy on their work. In my work I presented the key venues and organizations involved in organizing concerts in Vrhnika and their history, I presented how many and which concerts they offered over the years, how well they were attended and how they were supported by the municipality. In my work I also show the annual budget of the municipality of Vrhnika (or the program of the Ivan Cankar Institute in Vrhnika, which covers the culture and tourism of the municipality) and how much money was allocated to concerts or their organizers. Research questions are focused on the question of whether cultural policy with its orientation has an impact on concert events in our place or whether concert events are more dependent on independent cultural intermediaries.
