In the introductory part I stress and argument the importance of this research work's broad theme which main point is the security challenges of the European Union. In order to understand the wholesome of the processes in the latest safety environment, a total scientific approach is imperative. Knowing of the mid-term and short-term historical background, which is discussed in the initial historical frame, is relevant. In the mid-part I focused on the explicit recognition of the "domino effect" with security threats and challenges, and also the mutual affiliation of the mentioned security phenomena (energy safety -> armed attacks -> hybrid threats). With the studies and analysis of the various primary and secondary sources I found out the modified short-term and long-term security actions of the EU and it's members (nations) towards actual security challenges and those in the future. In my conclusion I stress out the relevance of solidarity and realisation of the common goals of the EU members to assure political stability in Europe and elsewhere.
