Abstract
V empiričnem delu so bili analizirani podatki, pridobljeni s pomočjo izvedene anketne raziskave.

Title:Analysis of employee satisfaction and leadership styles in homes of elderly citizens in Slovenia and Croatia
Abstract:
Satisfaction is important in all areas of life and work is no exception. Employee satisfaction is influenced by many facets that seem to be of different importance to individuals due to different factors. One of the most important facets is the leadership style that is used by a direct leader. The following master’s thesis presents employee satisfaction, leadership, and the importance of individual facets that influence employee satisfaction with the purpose to improve employee satisfaction. In the research part, we analyzed the data obtained through survey research. We surveyed employees in homes of elderly citizens in Slovenia and Croatia. The survey involved 305 respondents who evaluated claims related to authoritarian and participative leadership style and job satisfaction claims. We found that leaders use leadership styles in which the characteristics of a participative leadership style with individual elements of an authoritarian leadership style dominate. Apparently, the employees in Slovenian and Croatian homes of elderly citizens are still quite satisfied with their job. Employees must find it very important that leaders enable them to participate in the decision-making process in various ways. The results will be useful primarily for leaders in homes of elderly citizens and also for leaders in other organizations, especially in the public sector. Based on the findings of this survey, the leader may adapt the working process to the wishes of employees in cases where the working process allows it and work can continue unchanged.
