Abstract
Diplomsko delo se ukvarja s proučevanjem modne fotografije v obdobju kriznega zgodovinskega trenutka. V prvem delu je predstavljen zgodovinski pregled modne fotografije. V nadaljevanju sledi analiza modnih publikacij in njihove vloge v distribuciji modne podobe. Sledi premislek o modni fotografiji kot komercialnem ali umetniškem delu, kot tudi o družbenem komentarju v modni fotografiji, kjer sta podani analizi dveh primerov. Kot izhodišče je postavljena potencialna vzporednica kriznega trenutka sedanje pandemije z obdobjem španske gripe med obema vojnama, sledi vpogled v kratko zgodovinsko analizo obdobja nadrealizma, od koder so črpana glavna vizualna izrazna sredstva za nastanek praktičnega dela, postavljenega nazaj v sedanjost pandemije. Predstavljeni so tudi ključni avtorji za razvoj mojega avtorskega dela, kjer opišem in analiziram izhodišča, izvedbo in ovrednotenje nastalega dela v končnem formatu fotoknjige.

Title:Photographic interpretation of surrealism and crisis through fashion photography
Abstract:
The key subject of the thesis is researching fashion photography in a historical moment of crisis. The first chapter defines fashion photography through history. It is followed by an analysis of the role of fashion photography and fashion publishing in disseminating the fashion image. The third chapter discusses fashion photography as art or commerce. The following chapter contemplates fashion photography as a critical social message through two case studies. As the conceptual starting point, a potential parallel is drawn between the timeframe of World War One and Spanish influenza against the crisis of the current pandemic. For further analysis, there is a short chapter on surrealism that serves as a potential source for the visual means used in the practical part, set back in the presence of the pandemic. A few key authors, fundamental to the development of my work are mentioned, and lastly, the analysis of the practical part where I describe and analyze the starting points, execution, and evaluation of the final work which will be the format of a photobook.
