Previous analyses of bibliometric data and careful observations indicate marked differences and deviations in many facets of scientific operationalization observed between different sciences. This thesis elaborates on this umbrella issue of differences, presents them in further detail, supports them with concrete evidence stemming from analysis data, and then hypothesizes on the emergence of different profiles of scientific publishing of Slovenian researchers. The practical part of the thesis concerns the analysis of symbolic data obtained from the SICRIS database, specifically the publishing of Slovenian scientists in the form of original scientific articles for their first 15 years of operation, encompassing scientists writing from 1922 to 2017. The analysis carried out using adapted leaders method and adapted Ward's hierarchical clustering method shows the existence of different profiles of scientific publishing, and the post-analysis shows the influence of different sciences as well as gender on the differences between profiles.
