Abstract
Metode dela: Uporabili smo kvalitativni raziskovalni pristop, v okviru katerega smo opravili pregled znanstvene literature, objavljene med leti 2010 in 2021, najdene v bibliografskih bazah z različnimi kombinacijami ključnih besed: driving (vožnja), occupational therap* (delovna terapija, delovni terapevt), elderly (starejši).

Title:Occupational therapist interventions to maintain and improve older people's car driving : diploma thesis
Abstract:
Introduction: With the demographic aging of the population, the number of older drivers is increasing and their ability to drive safely is declining due to the deterioration of their physical and mental abilities. These skills need to be checked regularly and maintained, with the occupational therapist playing an important role. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work was to determine which interventions an occupational therapist can include in the program of maintaining / improving the driving skills of the elderly or. in what way it can help make driving safer. Methods: We used a qualitative research approach, in which we reviewed the scientific literature published between 2010 and 2021, found in bibliographic databases with different combinations of keywords: driving, occupational therap* (occupational therapy, occupational therapist), elderly (senior). Results: In the final analysis, we included 17 sources that revealed four topics related to the interventions used by the occupational therapist. included in the treatment in order to preserve or. improvements in older people's driving: assessment; driving training and learning, vehicle and equipment adaptations for driving and stopping driving. Discussion and conclusion: A review of the resources revealed that the occupational therapist has interventions in various areas available to improve / maintain the driving ability of the elderly, which can significantly contribute to either improving or maintaining the ability to drive, or to improving the driving conditions of the elderly. drivers or contribute to safety by advising to stop driving. The results of the research can help occupational therapists and policy makers in designing and defining intervention programs for older drivers.
