Abstract
Balance error scoring system – BESS) z gibanjem središča pritiska.

Title:
The concurrent validity between Balance error scoring system and postural sway
Abstract:
The aim of this study was to determine the concurrent validity between the number of errors of individual tasks and the correlation of the Balance error scoring system (BESS) cumulative score with the movement of the center of pressure (COP) among healthy young adults. Methods: 17 healthy young adults (21 ± 0.94 years) performed six BESS tasks on the force plate. Simultaneously we counted errors. Results: All participants made zero errors in the double-legged stances. The concurrent validity between the number of errors in the tandem stance and the single-leg stance on firm surface with the movement of COP was moderate to very strong (r = 0.62 – 0.91). Both conditions on compliant surface had nonsignificant correlations. The movement of COP in all firm surface conditions had moderate to very strong (r = 0.48 – 0.83) correlations with the cumulative score of BESS. Conclusions: The results indicate that the firm surface conditions have better concurrent validity compared to the compliant surface conditions, and the single-leg stance on firm surface has the strongest correlations with the number of errors and the cumulative score of BESS.
