Abstract
V bločnem poljskem poskusu v Vašah pri Medvodah smo opazovali morfološke lastnosti rumenega volčjega boba (Lupinus luteus L.) sorte 'Mister', ozkolistnega ali modrega volčjega boba (Lupinus angustifolius L.) sorte 'Sonet' in belega volčjega boba (Lupinus albus L.) sort 'Nelly' in 'Pepe'.

Title:Morphological properties and yield of different species and varieties of lupins (Lupinus spp. L.)
Abstract:
Lupinus (Lupinus spp. L.) is a plant used for human nutrition, animal feed, or green manure. Lupinus is classified in the Fabaceae family. In addition to its high protein content (from 35% to 50%), the plant can fix nitrogen from the air with the help of bacteria Rhizobium lupini and Bradyrhizobium lupini and has a good foliage. In a field trial witha randomised complete block design at the village of Vaše nearby Medvode in 2019, we studied the morphological characteristics of yellow lupin (Lupinus luteus L.), the 'Mister' variety, blue lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.), the 'Sonet' variety, and white lupin (Lupinus albus L.), 'Nelly' and 'Pepe' varieties. The highest seed yield was obtained from the local conservation variety of white lupin 'Pepe' (2,254.6 kg/ha). All three foreign sweet lupin varieties, namely white lupin 'Nelly' (571.7 kg/ha), blue lupin 'Sonet' (474.7 kg/ha) and yellow lupin 'Mister' (75.4 kg/ha), had significantly lower yields, most likely due to the fact that growing conditions in 2019 were less suitable for their growth. Despite the fact that we have shown that all tested lupin scan be grown under our growing conditions, we believe that field trials with these crops should be continued in different areas of Slovenia. At the same time, the agrotechnique should be adapted to the individual variety and the quality for human nutrition and livestock must also be monitored.
