The following final thesis deals with general and broader sociological and social scientific definitions of antisemitism. The first part of the thesis outlines the socio-historical context and the circumstances that have led to contemporary antisemitism. Later on, the thesis examines broader definitions of antisemitism and the significance of the media and provides examples of antisemitic discourse that have permeated particular social milieus and historical periods. The work concludes with a sociological reflection that illustrates the situation in contemporary society and links the issue of antisemitism to political action. Manifestations of antisemitism have been present in society for a very long time, crossing different environments, cultures and factors.
