Introduction: Amongst the natural need of a human being are tight friendship and partnership, which is the foundation to achieve intimacy and sexuality. To become a parent is one of the cornerstones of our lives, and it is certain that it affects the beforementioned intimacy and sexuality. Purpose: The purpose of my diploma is to research the men's view to sexuality in connection to their attendance to labour and to compare the effect of observing and being actively involved and their perception of puerperium sexuality. Methods: A descriptive method and literature overview was used in the theoretical part of the diploma. The empirical part consisted of a qualitative work method with a half-structured interview. The workgroup were fathers in the first postpartum year which have been actively involved in the labour as well as those who were observers. Social network was used to invite them to cooperate in the research. The cooperation proceeded through Zoom software.. Gathered results and following transcripts were analysed with a qualitative thematic analysis and an open coding and categorisation. Results: A minor influence was indicated with men actively involved in the delivery (group A). Despite their sexual need, they were conciously prepared to wait mostly to the first gynaecological examination. About their perception of their partner they all pointed out increased respect, attraction and perfection. In the group of interview attendees who were merely observers of the delivery (group B) was proved that they had lower education, expressed smaller interest in the progress of the labour, did not attend parenting school and they stated lower wish to attend to the delivery. They felt a quicker need for sexual intercourse in the puerperium period and was often even forced.Discussion: In group A the attendance to the delivery did not have the same influence as for group B, but an important factor is that group A had better preparation, a better attendance to the parenting school and a bigger interest in the delivery and the delivery itself for them was a positive experience. Group B showed quite the opposite. Conclusion: With the study we have opened a rarely researched but a very important subject of the influence to the sexuality of male attendees the labour. We have concluded that it has a minor consequence to the puerperium sexuality.
