The subject of the masterʼs thesis is the analysis and presentation of Luigi Pirandelloʼs poetics, the description of psychological and philosophical theories that influenced authorʼs work and the analysis of the novel One, None and One Hundred Thousand as Syntheses of the author's literary work and personal philosophy. The turning point between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries shook traditional views of objectivity and truth, which is reflected in revolutionary discoveries in the fields of psychoanalysis, psychology, and philosophy. The paper presents the theories of Freud, Binet, Bergson, Simmel and Nietzsche in connection with the work of Pirandello. Later, the above theories are also presented on a concrete example - the novel One, None and Hundred Thousand. The authorʼs poetics is also elaborated in detail in the masterʼs thesis. Special emphasis is placed on binary dichotomies (real / illusion, normal / abnormal) and on Pirandelloʼs theory of masks and humor. The theoretical part is followed by a presentation and analysis of the novel One, None and Hundred Thousand. The structure, type of narrator, themes and the personality decomposition process of the main character in relation to nihilism are presented in this thesis.
