Font is without a doubt considered one of the greatest human inventions, if not the greatest. The emergence of such a system is a lengthy process, and the history of writing is long and complex. The original way of ommunicating was oral tradition, and the font was an upgrade and allowed the dissemination and storage of information and data. With her help, people communicated through space. It connected all generations and the world as a whole and made it possible to store linguistic material in accurate form over a long, endless period.
The Glagolic script is considered to be the first script adapted to the phonetic structure of Old Church Slavonic, the first literary language of the Slavs, in which the oldest Slavic translations of liturgical books from Greek were written. In my master's thesis, I described the definition, origin and development of fonts, presented the types of fonts and presented some of them with pictorial material. In my work I have gathered information about the Glagolic srcipt, namely the history and use of the Glagolic script, I have presented the main theories of its origin, spelling rules for writing vowels and consonants, and given examples for shortening words. I also devoted the chapter to Glagolitic types. The most extensive part of my work covers the description of the development of individual graphemes from the basic form to the italic notation, where I described the
development of verb letters over time. I also added pictorial material with examples of shapes from monuments created in different periods.
