Abstract
Diplomsko delo z naslovom Likovni kotički v javnih vrtcih opisuje pomembnost likovne vzgoje v predšolskem obdobju. Skozi celotno delo, poleg trenutnega stanja, izpostavlja prednosti alternativnega vzgojnega koncepta Reggio Emilia.

Title:Art corners in public kindergardens
Abstract:
Diploma paper with the title Art corners in public kindergartens describes the importance of art education in preschool period. It describes the current situation and exposes the advantages of an alternative educational concept Reggio Emilia. In the theoretical part, I presented the part of curriculum for kindergartens associated with Art, tasks and goals, and I also discussed the fact that we need to take care of younger children’s ability to artistically express themselves. I introduced the meaning and the role of Art in this preschool period and different ways how children artistically express themselves. I presented spatial and materialistic conditions for performing art education, described the role of a teacher, his assistant and other workers in the kindergarten. I also emphasised the parents’ role in this educational process. The empirical part deals with the current state of equipment in children’s playground that are meant for art education. For this purpose, I prepared a questionnaire that was distributed among the kindergartens in public and rural settings and I tried to answer many research questions dealing with the equipment in art corners in kindergartens, working process at the field of artistic creation, its surroundings and the materials and other equipment that they use. The results of this survey showed that the material available for the children is basic, but still in accordance with recommendations of its curriculum. Usually, kindergarten workers take care of equipment used in this corners, unstructured material is used only in few kindergartens. Children individually provide the means, materials and tools for art education.
