Abstract

Title:Content analysis of Lex Localis journal between 2010-2020
Abstract:
Content analysis is a process and a method used to analyze qualitative data. In my dissertation, I focused on the analysis of the content of the journal Lex localis in the period 2010-2020. This technique allows the researcher to convert qualitative data into quantitative ones. The method has been very popular in the past and was first used in early 18th century in Sweden. Content analysis quickly gained popularity among researchers and reached its peak during World War II. With this method, researchers determine the purposes, messages and effects of communication content, and it can be roughly divided into qualitative and quantitative. Content analysis is a fairly simple but time-consuming process of analyzing data. I also focused on the concept of local self-government in my dissertation, as most articles in Lex localis are written on this topic. Local self-government is of great importance for our country, as there are as many as 212 municipalities in Slovenia that regulate local affairs. We found out that the journal Lex localis expresses a multidisciplinary orientation, as the articles published in this journal refer to various disciplines and thematic orientations. Empirical results demonstrated that qualitative methodology represents the predominant methodological approach.
