This Bachelor's thesis discusses the role of the German poet, writer, playwright, historian and philosopher, Friedrich Schiller, in the repertoire of Slovenian theatres. Schiller wrote twelve plays – I focused on those performed by the Dramatic society in Ljubljana, five in all. Short summaries and analysis, excluding Wilhelm Tell, are included. Schiller's plays The Robbers, Intrigue and Love, Don Carlos, Mary Stuart, The Maid of Orleans and Wilhelm Tell were all performed in Slovenia, first appearing in the repertoire in 1875 with Josip Nolli's translation and direction of The Robbers.
