Abstract
Čas prihoda avtobusa ali vlaka na postajo je za potnike javnega prometa ena izmed najpomembnejših informacij. Zaradi nepredvidljivosti prometa se ta čas nenehno spreminja in prihaja do zamud ter predčasnih prihodov avtobusov in vlakov. Če potniki najnovejših podatkov o prihodih ne dobijo pravočasno, zanje to velikokrat pomeni zamujen prevoz ali prekomerno čakanje na postajah, kar pa jih odvrača od uporabe javnega prometa. V diplomskem delu smo razvili mobilno aplikacijo, ki združuje podatke o prihodih več prevoznikov avtobusnega medkrajevnega in mestnega prometa ter železniškega prometa. Poleg voznih redov potnikom omogočamo vpogled tudi v realnočasovne podatke, s katerimi lahko vidijo trenutne lokacije avtobusov in vlakov ter njihove napovedane prihode. Tako imajo čimveč informacij, da lažje časovno načrtujejo svojo pot.

Title:Mobile application for arrivals monitoring in public transportation
Abstract:
In public transport, the arrival time of a bus or train on a station is one of the most important informations for passengers. Due to the unpredictability of traffic, this time is always changing and delays or early arrivals are bound to happen. If passengers are not notified of these changes in a timely manner, they often wait too long at a station or miss a bus or train. This contributes negatively to their perception of public transport and might discourage them from using it more often. In this thesis, we developed a mobile application that merges data of multiple sources of city and intercity bus and train transport. Besides displaying timetables, we also offer monitoring of realtime data to passengers, including current locations of buses and trains and their predicted arrivals. This way, passengers have plenty of information to efficiently plan their trips.
