Abstract
Mangartska cesta je najvišje ležeča cesta v Sloveniji in se nahaja znotraj Triglavskega narodnega parka. Diplomsko delo obravnava njeno funkcijo, zgodovino, značilnosti in vpetost v prometni sistem regije. Na podlagi naštetih komponent je predstavljena ureditev ceste in upravljanje prometa v sedanjosti ter izzivi za prihodnost. Z vidika finančne vzdržnosti in okoljske sprejemljivosti je namreč upravljanje prometa na alpskih cestah zahtevno in odvisno od različnih faktorjev. Namen diplomskega dela je podati predlog načrta upravljanja Mangartske ceste, ki bo skladen z vizijo ter cilji prometnih in prostorskih strateških dokumentov. Delo obsega pregled fizično in družbenogeografskih značilnosti preučevanega območja, kronološki pregled stanja in specifikacij ceste, analizo prometnih in prostorskih strateških dokumentov s poudarkom na viziji in ciljih trajnostne mobilnosti, pregled možnih scenarijev ureditve ceste in upravljanja prometa ter lasten predlog načrta upravljanja prometa, ki je skladen s konceptoma trajnostnega razvoja in trajnostne mobilnosti.

Title:Mangart road management plan proposal
Abstract:
Mangart road is the highest road in Slovenia and is located within the Triglav National Park. The diploma thesis deals with its function, history, characteristics and integration into the transport system of the region. Based on the listed components, road regulation and traffic management in the present and challenges for the future are presented. From the point of view of financial sustainability and environmental acceptability, traffic management on alpine roads is demanding and depends on various factors. The purpose of the diploma work is to give a proposal for the management plan of the Mangart road, which will be in line with the vision and goals of transport and spatial strategic documents. The work includes an overview of the physical and socio-geographical characteristics of the study area, a chronological overview of the condition and specifications of the road, an analysis of transport and spatial strategic documents with emphasis on the vision and goals of sustainable mobility, an overview of possible road management and traffic management scenarios with the concepts of sustainable development and sustainable mobility.
