Abstract
Diplomsko delo raziskuje življenjsko zgodbo avstrijskega cesarjeviča in ogrskega kraljeviča Rudolfa Habsburškega. Osredotoča se predvsem na njegovo smrt, 30. januarja 1889, in na podlagi štirih časopisov, ki so v takratnem času izhajali na slovenskem etničnem ozemlju, nakazuje možne razloge, ki bi lahko privedli do tega tragičnega dogodka.

Title:An Imperial Tragedy (30 January 1889): News from Mayerling That Dismayed the Whole Empire
Abstract:
The object of this thesis is the life story of Rudolf of Habsburg, the Crown Prince of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The focus is predominantly on his death on 30 January 1889. Based on four newspapers that were published on the Slovenian ethnic territory at that time, it proposes possible explanations that made this tragical incident come about.
