Gradbena zgodovina gradu Brežice

V zaključni seminarski nalogi sem raziskovala gradbeno zgodovino gradu Brežice. Z ustrezno literaturo, ki je opisana v prvem poglavju, sem arhitekturno zgodovino predstavila kronološko od prve omembe mesta Brežice in gradu skozi ostala obdobja do danes. Grad je svojo zasnovo dobil v 16. stoletju, torej obdobju renesanse in delovanja italijanskih stavbenikov pri nas, zato sem najprej opisala postopek gradnje, kdo je pri njej sodeloval, kako se poznajo renesančni vplivi, ki so jih prinesli italijanski gradbeniki, in v čem se razlikujejo njihova dela v Brežicah ter v ostalih mestih po Sloveniji, kjer so delovali. Močan vpliv pri postopku in izvedbi gradnje gradov so imele različne vojaške, politične in družbene okoliščine, kar je pripeljalo do dveh funkcij, ki sta zaznamovali videz in uporabo gradu – obrambne in stanovanjske. S prihodom 18. stoletja pa se prenove še niso končale, saj je lastništvo gradu prevzel Ignacij Marija grof Attems, ki je pričel z njegovo barokizacijo. V tem poglavju sem predstavila njegovo življenje in nakup brežiškega posestva ter opisala prenovo pod njegovim okriljem. Za lažje raziskovanje sem jo primerjala z deli, ki jih je grof namenil za svoja ostala gospostva. Zadnje poglavje je namenjeno času od 19. stoletja do danes, oziroma od konca vladanja rodbine Attems. Tu sem zajela le kratek opis prenov, ki jih je izvršil Posavski muzej od druge polovice 20. stoletja dalje v namen delovanja muzeja.

Izvleček

This final seminar paper deals with the building history of the Brežice castle. In the first chapter, the building history is chronologically listed from the very first mention of the Brežice city and castle through all the periods until today. The castle's design originates from 16th century - the time of renaissance and works of Italian architects and building masters in the Slovene lands, that is why I firstly described the construction process, its participants, traces of renaissance influences from the Italian architects and the differences that tell their works in Brežice apart from other Slovenian cities. Different military, political and social reasons have heavily impacted the construction process of the castle and resulted in different design depending on its purpose - defence or residence. Castle's renovations continued in 18th century, when count Ignaz Maria Attems took its ownership and began the baroquization. In this chapter, I described his life, the purchase of the estate in Brežice and the renovations done under his auspices. I compared the latter with works he incorporated in his other estates. The last chapter covers the time from 19th century (the end of the reign of Attems family) until today. Here I listed brief descriptions of renovations carried out by Posavje Museum Brežice in second half of the 20th century for the purpose of museum's operation.
