Energy diplomacy is an important type of foreign policy integration. The world superpowers, Russian Federation and People’s Republic of China, are further strengthening their power in the international community through mutual cooperation. The following thesis focuses on the presentation of the strategic partnership of these two countries, enabled by the 'Power of Siberia' gas pipeline. This represents a major diplomatic challenge for both countries, as well as new opportunities in the field of gas integration, including diversification. The long-lasting negotiations, in which the problem was mainly the price, became fruitful when the contract was signed on 21 May 2014. Common interests pave the way in which RF, which represents the bidder, seeks new directions for the construction of gas pipelines due to sanctions after the Ukrainian crisis, and the PRC which represents the suitable customer with the intention of a low-carbon future. Non-interference, but at the same time offering opportunities for important strategies, deepens trust between the two countries, whose presidents emphasize the importance of a friendly relationship. In the future, energy diplomacy and gas cooperation between RF and PRC will continue successfully, at least in the short term.
