Local studies is one of the basic activities of public libraries. One way to promote the local studies collection is to present it on the library website. The purpose of our research was to make an overview of the presentation of local studies collections on the websites of Slovenian public libraries. Our study, conducted between February 5 and March 5 2021, included a sample of 29 public library websites. We analysed how many libraries have the local studies collection presented in a visible place, where on the websites the collection or information about it is located, what information about the collection is provided on the websites and whether digitized resources from the local studies collection are available on the website. The results of the analysis showed that the majority of libraries present local studies collections on their websites, but the available information on the collections vary and is sometimes insufficient. It would make sense for libraries to plan the placement and display of the local studies collection before creating a website as a quality presentation of the local studies collection on the website could lead to a better promotion of the collection, more positive user experience and thus a better reputation of the library.
