With the geomorphological analysis method we identified the key charachteristics of western Karst. After an overview of literature about the area, morphometric, morphostructural and morphographic analyses were conducted, in order to explain the morphogenetic formation of the relief in the area. The area began forming in the lower Cretaceous period. The relief was formed by tectonic, corrosion and even erosion processes. The area is in most part a plat plain with a high density of dolinas. The flat terrain ends in tectonic lowlands. Karst becomes more shallow towards the south, where poljes can be found. Further towards the south and southeast the relief becomes more dynamic, contact karst formations can be found here, as well as cone karst.
