Abstract
Naravne nesreče so zadnja desetletja vse bolj pogoste.

Title:Comparison of post disturbance regeneration in spruce and mixed beech forest stands following severe windthrow
Abstract:
Natural disturbances have become more common in recent decades. In this research, we focused on the areas affected by the 2017 windstorm. We wanted to find out the resilience capacity of the forest after such disturbances. The data was obtained in two areas, that were before the windstorm covered by pure spruce stands and mixed beech stands. In each area 12 plots were placed, 10 x 10 m in size. We found out that in both areas research plots are predominantly covered by the herbaceous vegetation. We found significant differences in regeneration density between the areas. In the beech area the total regeneration density was 11.117 per ha, which was more compared to the spruce area with the regeneration density of 6292 per ha. Beech area also had a more favorable height structure and tree composition with a smaller proportion of problematic Norway spruce and common ash. Although some favorable indices have also been recorded in spruce area, such as a lower proportion of ground vegetation and greater tree diversity, the spruce area nevertheless shows smaller capacity to recover compared to the beech one.
