Abstract
V tem besedilu raziskujem implikacije lastne umetniške prakse, ki jo navdihuje krščanska apokalipsa, skozi lečo zgodovinskega, antropološkega in filozofskega apokaliptičnega konteksta.

Title:Visual Eschatology: The Book of Revelation and Art
Abstract:
In this paper, I explore the implications of my own Christian apocalypse inspired art practice through the lens of historical, anthropological and philosophical apocalyptic context. I explore the original context of the book of Revelation and how its readings have changed over time, as well as how other artists have used it in their work, versus how I’ve used it in mine. Anthropologically, I investigate how not only apocalyptic but also everyday religious art is perceived by people that interact with it and what kind of role it plays in their lives. Any apocalyptic art made in the present moment also inescapably invokes the discussion of today’s political and economic situation, and first and foremost the climate crisis, so I also spent some time analysing how this reality might influence the viewer’s perception of my work.
