Abstract
Konkurenčni, hitro rastoči trg ponudbe delovnih mest zahteva učinkovito prilagajanje delodajalcev pri pridobivanju novega kadra, skrbi za obstoječi kader in preprečevanju odhoda zaposlenih. Ustrezna skrb za zaposlene se je izkazala za učinkovito metodo pri preprečevanju odhodov zaposlenih. Predvsem je pomembna individualna obravnava zaposlenega ter posluh za njihove potrebe in želje. Razvijalci programske opreme poudarjajo, da je vodenje ključnega pomena, zato bi se morali vodje redno izobraževati in nadgrajevati svoje znanje o upravljanju človeških virov. Kljub temu da se aktivnosti za preprečevanje odhoda zaposlenih stalno nadgrajujejo, je ustrezno plačilo še vedno ključno tako pri pridobivanju novega kadra kot pri zadrževanju zaposlenih v organizaciji. Magistrsko delo je sestavljeno iz dveh delov. Prvi del zajema pregled obstoječe literature o nezadovoljstvu, fluktuaciji in zadrževanju zaposlenih v organizaciji, predvsem zadrževanju razvijalcev programske opreme. Drugi del zajema lastno empirično raziskavo vzrokov za fluktuacijo in metod zadrževanja omenjenega kadra. Glavna metoda empiričnega raziskovanja je anketni vprašalnik. Anketirala sem 225 razvijalcev programske opreme, populacija je zajemala starost od 20 do 60 let.

Title:Software developer turnover and retention
Abstract:
A competitive, rapidly growing job market demands employers to be efficient at recruiting, maintaining employees satisfied, and reducing turnover. Appropriate employee care turned out to be an efficient method in preventing employee turnover, where individual approach, consideration of employee’s needs and wishes are of main importance. Software developers emphasize the management of human resources, so managers should be continuously educated on the subject. Although reducing turnover activities are continuously upgrading, adequate salary remains one of the key factors in successful recruiting and employee retention. The master thesis consists of two parts. The first part includes reviewing existing literature on dissatisfaction, turnover, and employee retention overview, primarily focused on software developers. The second part includes my empirical research on software developer turnover and retention, where the main research method represents a survey questionnaire. There were 225 respondents, aged from 20 to 60 years.
