Vpliv naprednih konceptov zgorevanja na trajno delovanje motorja s kompresijskim vžigom

Abstract
Za konvencionalne motorje z notranjim zgorevanjem, ki se danes uporabljajo v komercialnih vozilih, lahko trdimo, da obratujejo zanesljivo. To pomeni, da do večjih, kritičnih napak, ob upoštevanju rednih servisov ne prihaja. Zanesljivost je določena na osnovi obremenitev, ki delujejo na motorske komponente v predvidenih obratovalnih razmerah motorja. Te so ocenjene ob uporabi konvencionalnih konceptov zgorevanja, ki se široko uporabljajo na trgu razpoložljivih motorjev. V kolikor želimo koncept zgorevanja nadgraditi in vpeljati katerega izmed naprednih konceptov zgorevanja v kombinaciji z alternativnimi gorivi, je potrebno omejitve za zanesljivo delovanje motorja vnovič preveriti. V nalogi obravnavamo motor s kompresijskim vžigom, ki se zanaša na kompresijski vžig delovne zmesi nadzorovane z njeno reaktivnostjo (t.i. RCCI koncept) ob sočasni uporabi hidrogeniranega rastlinskega olja (HVO) in zemeljskega plina (NG), ki je bio-osnovana alternativa dizelskemu gorivu. Doseganje kriterijev za zanesljivo obratovanje je s pomočjo referenčnih vrednosti ovrednoteno v območju delovanja z različnimi deleži recirkuliranih izpušnih plinov, od 0% do 40% in različnimi deleži zemeljskega plina (NG), od 95% do 55%. Rezultati nakazujejo da se parametri za oceno zanesljivosti (COVIMEP in COVpmax) ob deležu EGR nad 30% ali deležu NG pod 57% odmaknejo od sprejemljivih intervalov. Ob uvedbi naprednih konceptov zgorevanja v obstoječe motorje z notranjim zgorevanjem je torej potrebno postaviti nove omejitve obratovalnega prostora, kjer je možno zanesljivo obratovanje.

Title:Impact of advanced combustion concepts on durability of cmpression ignition engine
Abstract:
Modern internal combustion engines are reliable as they feature little to no critical engine faulty if they are properly maintained. Reliability of the engine can be estimated by considering different loads on the engine parts while operating in predicted operating regimes. These operating regimes are obtained by using conventional combustion concepts that are widely applied in current engine generations. If we wish to upgrade an existing combustion concept to advanced combustion concept in combination with an alternative fuel, the limits for reliability have to be reassessed. In this thesis a compression ignition engine that that operates on Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI concept) while using hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and natural gas (NG) as bio-alternative to existing diesel fuel is researched. The criterion for reliable operation is evaluated in different operating points, where each point has a different share of recirculated exhaust gases, from 0% to 40% and different shares of natural gas (NG), from 95% to 55%. The results of the experiment suggest that when using a proportion of EGR higher than 30% or proportion of NG higher than 57%, parameters for evaluating the operation reliability (COVIMEP in COVpmax) move away from acceptable values. Introduction of RCCI combustion concept in existing internal combustion engines thus requires implementation of new limits to operational regime to maintain reliability.
