Abstract

Title:
Collection of patterns printed on sustainable children's clothing
Abstract:
This diploma shows the creation of a pattern collection for children's clothing (ages six months to two years for the spring-summer season.). The theme is equality, with the motif of The Zoo. The areas explored are: children’s illustration, patterns, and sustainability. The goal of the collection is to design practical children's clothing according to principles of sustainability with cute unisex patterns. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the research-analytical method is used, followed by the descriptive method. The central part of the thesis is the experimental part: design and manufacture of textile products. This process shows the designer's vision through the creation of patterns with children’s illustration and the subsequent digital printing on the material. All of this, to conclude with the product, baby clothes. After several months of work, this goal is achieved. The patterns are transferred via digital textile printing to organic cotton knitwear, which is the basis for the garments. The basic pieces of clothing in the collection are: T-shirts, short-sleeved and sleeveless bodysuits, long pants, shorts, onesies, sweaters, hats, bibs and blankets.
