Literary evaluation has developed from the philosophy of values. Its principal question deals with which are the elements of artistry in a literary work. Literary works that are (at a certain time and place in history) attributed this quality, are included in the literary canon. Literary awards also play an important role in the process of canonization. The process of literary evaluation is changing along with the evolution of different media that present literature - from letters and newspapers to the relatively new phenomena of the Internet. With the technological development (that includes digital development of the media) the range of the literary system has widened, because there are many new approaches to presenting and engaging with literature. The Internet has enabled a more interactive user experience. The traditional forms of evaluation, such as literary criticism or advertising texts still exist, however, there are many new forms of evaluation, such as blogs, websites and video presentations, that play a role of selection on the literary market.
