Abstract
Za uspešno vključitev avtonomnih vozil v prometu je treba doseči ne le uspešno komunikacijo z drugimi motornimi vozili in cestno infrastrukturo, ampak tudi uspešno komunikacijo z drugimi udeleženci v prometu, kot so pešci, kolesarji itd. Za ta namen se razvijajo različni koncepti zunanje komunikacije med človekom in vozilom (angl. external human-machine interaction – eHMI), vendar na področju ni enotnega soglasja, kateri vmesniki zagotavljajo najbolj učinkovito komunikacijo in/ali vzbujajo največji občutek varnosti. Namen te naloge je z uporabo uporabniške študije raziskati več različnih konceptov eHMI in jih primerjati glede na občutek varnosti, učinkovitosti in uporabniške izkušnje. V okviru diplomskega dela je bila opravljena spletna anketa (N = 20), ki je primerjala občutek varnosti, uporabniško izkušnjo in všečnost osmih konceptov eHMI. Poleg konceptov se je primerjalo tudi, ali predhodne vozniške izkušnje vplivajo na uporabniško izkušnjo konceptov eHMI. Rezultati so pokazali, da imajo vozniške izkušnje vpliv na uporabniško izkušnjo konceptov eHMI, saj se je uporabniška izkušnja med skupinama bolj in manj izkušenih voznikov razlikovala. Kljub temu sta obe skupini pokazali močno preferenco za en koncept eHMI. Pridobljeni rezultati lahko služijo kot vpogled v seznanjenost z eHMI, njihovo uporabnost ter kot smernica za nadaljnje in bolj obširne raziskave o uporabi eHMI na področju Slovenije.

Title:Communication of autonomous vehicles with other road users
Abstract:
For a successful implementation of autonomous vehicles to our roads, it is necessary to achieve not only successful communication with other motor vehicles and road infrastructure, but also successful communication with other road users, such as pedestrians, cyclists, etc. For this purpose, various concepts of external human-machine interaction are being developed, but there is no consensus in the field on which interfaces ensure the most efficient communication and/or evoke the greatest sense of safety. The purpose of this thesis is to explore several different eHMI concepts with the help of a user study and compare them according to a sense of security, efficiency and user experience. As part of this diploma thesis, I conducted a web-based study (N = 20), that compared the participants feeling of safety, user experience and personal preference among eight eHMI concepts. Additionally, I compared whether previous driving experience has an effect on eHMI user experience. The results show that previous driving experience does impact the user experience of eHMI concepts as it differed between both groups. Despite that, both groups showed a significant preference for a singular eHMI concept. The obtained results can serve as an insight into the familiarity with eHMI, their applicability and as a guideline for further and more extensive research on the use of eHMI in Slovenia.
