Teachers face the daily challenge of providing quality educational (didactic) tools to children in school. They usually make them themselves, as there are not many on the market. The master's thesis is dealt with the planning, design and production of a didactic game for children with a lower educational standard attending school. The game we developed helps children learn and consolidate the recognition of voices in the Slovene language classes. It can also be used by parents at home to consolidate and develop their child's knowledge of voice recognition.
The theoretical part is focused on the definition of the target group - children with mild intellectual disability - and their oral communication. The main aspects of board games are discussed and an overview of illustrations in games with therapeutic purpose is given. Inkjet printing and the materials used to make the games are aslo discussed. The paper with a market research was concluded.
In the experimental part is described our planning of the didactic game, the process of illustrating the game, preparing the packaging and elements of the game for printing. The materials used to make a prototype of the game are presented, and a table to help in testing the game at school is prepared.
The result of the work is a didactic game called "I see, I hear, I say", which was successfully tested in school on children with special needs.
