Abstract

Title:Pattern design with 3D printing on textile
Abstract:
The diploma thesis presents the process of researching 3D printing on textiles, the connection between materials and design of three-dimensional patterns by rasterization. 3D printing is evolving every day and offers a variety of new manufacturing options that are often simpler and easier than traditional ones. With 3D printing, innovative clothing and textiles can be created that represent a revolution in the fashion industry and life in general. In this diploma work, the field in various technologies of 3D printing was researched and various designers and manufacturers were presented, who have already designed 3D textiles in 3D printing on textiles. The advantages and features in the possibilities of 3D printing are also presented, especially the emphasis on 3D printing on textiles, which is the main topic of this work. We know several ways in which they can be designed in patterned textiles, in this case 3D printing on textiles was chosen. Good adhesion of 3D objects to textiles is extremely important, so the theoretical part mentions the results of some research that has been done in this field. It was determined which textile material is suitable for 3D printing and what you need to pay attention to when choosing the material and printing properties. This knowledge was used in the design of patterns and the process of 3D printing on textiles. Butterfly wings in various organic textures found in nature were chosen as the starting point for the design of the patterns. The design process began with making sketches of patterns that were transformed into a 3D model in Blender and continued with the first attempts at printing on textiles. Based on the results, guidelines were set for the selection of final materials and further design of the samples. The motifs consisted mostly of a hemisphere, the size and shape of which varied. With the size of individual elements and their density, the raster with which the image or pattern was formed and then the 3D model for printing on textiles was also changing.
