The thesis deals with Building Information Modeling (BIM). This concept of designing has been greatly expanded in recent years, because it is a very good upgrade of traditional designing. In the thesis, the BIM is presented mainly by the work of mechanical engineers, who play a very important role in the design of modern facilities. For example, we chose multi-apartment building, for which district heating substation was designed using BIM method. Heating substation was first designed and dimensioned, and then modeled in Revit program. The conclusion is that the implementation of BIM in Slovenia is progressing well, but there is still much room for improvement.
