The thesis presents the process of optimizing the streaming of omnidirectional
video, based on viewport, with the method of dividing original video into tiles and
encoding each tile into different qualities. The concept of bandwidth is defined, which
is the essence of optimization itself. The history of omnidirectional video are
presented. The theoretical part describes some data compression techniques, used in
bandwidth optimization, and presents capturing omnidirectional videos. The practical
part explains the processing of omnidirectional video streaming on the server. In
conclusion, the findings and possibilities for improvement are presented.
