Geocaching is a worldwide outdoor scavenger hunt game which is played with GPS devices or smartphones. In the last year, the whole world was struck by the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore Slovenia, as well as other countries, imposed certain safety measures to curb the spread of the virus. Some of the measures included movement restrictions and people gathering restrictions. We found that player activity almost halved during COVID-19. We also compared that with data from Apple Mobility Trends, where Pearson's correlation between directions and active players was 0,81. A similar comparison was made with data from Google Mobility Trends, where we found that the highest correlation (0,87) was between active players and mobility in a park area. We also compared the numbers of found Geocaches with the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and found, that the correlation was -0,59. During COVID-19 times, players were searching for fewer Geocaches of type EarthCache and Event. There were also some groups of players who went together to search for Geocaches despite the restrictions. Most of the players who crossed their region during restrictions and found a Geocache were from the Osrednjaslovenska region. The region, which was mostly visited by the players during restrictions, was also the Osrednjaslovenska region.
