D-amino acids are found in small quantities both in natural and synthetic peptides and proteins. Determination of their bonding sites is important for detailed analysis and understanding of these peptides and proteins. In my diploma thesis I presented methods for analysis of proteins that consist of D-amino acids. All methods for determination of bonding sites of D-amino acids are based on mass spectrometry, which is the key technique for analysing the structure of proteins. The goal of the experimental part was to develop a method to separate proteins consisting of D-amino acids. The method was developed with two tandem mass spectrometers, which were coupled with liquid chromatography instruments.
