Abstract
V diplomski nalogi sem predstavila in opisala pirane, 2H-piran-2-one in njihove derivate kot pomembno skupino naravnih spojin s široko uporabnostjo v organski sintezi s poudarkom na cikloadicijah. V literaturi sem poiskala, kje se nahajajo in kje vse se uporabljajo. Glede na njihove terapevtske učinke se veliko uporabljajo pri raziskavah v medicini. Najdemo jih prav tako v rastlinah in živalih, kjer imajo različne vloge, kot so na primer obramba, zaviralci delovanja različnih encimov, naravni pigmenti… Sintezne poti do 2H-piran-2-onov in njihove nadaljnje reakcije sem opisala in jih predstavila s shemami. Malo bolj podrobno sem opisala Diels–Alderjevo reakcijo, eno najpomembnejših metod pri nastajanju novih C–C vezi in premostenih bicikličnih spojin. Na koncu sem predstavila še splošne spektroskopske značilnosti 2H-piran-2-onov za dokazovanje 2H-piran-2-onov s pomočjo IR, UV in NMR spektroskopije.

Title:2H-pyran-2-ones and their derivatives as efficient synthetic compounds and building blocks in organic synthesis
Abstract:
In this Diploma work I have presented and described pyrans, 2H-pyran-2-ones and their derivatives as an important class of natural compounds with broad application in organic synthesis with emphasis on cycloadditions. In literature I have found their occurrence and their usage. Considering their therapeutic effects, they are often used in medicinal research. It is possible to find them in plants and animals, where they have different roles. For example, defense, inhibitors of various enzymes, natural pigments… I have described synthetic pathways to 2H-pyran-2-ones and their further reactions and represented these with schemes. I have also described Diels–Alder reaction, one of the most important methods in forming new C–C bonds and bridged bicyclic compounds. At the end I have added a presentation of general spectroscopic features of 2H-pyran-2-ones for identifying 2H-pyran-2-ones with IR, UV and NMR spectroscopy.
