Abstract
V eksperimentalnem delu diplomske naloge smo s spletno raziskavo preučili najbolj odmevne anime modne blagovne znamke.

Title:Textile and clothing tradition of Japan
Abstract:
The aim of the diploma thesis was to research the history of clothing in Japan, its meaning, designs, patterns and traditional materials for their manufacture, and to compare traditional Japanese clothing and fashion with Western clothing tradition and fashion. The aim was also to investigate the unique Japanese mentality, relate it to traditional clothing, relate clothing to martial arts and religion, and evaluate their influence on the development of Japanese clothing culture throughout history. We found that Western culture has influenced Japanese culture and that its influence began with military uniforms. We also found that manga, anime, and video games have a strong influence on Japanese fashion today. Young people often dress up in the costumes of their favorite characters and heroes and meet at various conventions. In the experimental part of the thesis, we used online research to investigate the most sensational anime fashion clothing. We found that these brands are not Japanese, but European or American, proving the popularity of anime culture outside of Japan. We also investigated the supply of street fashion in Japan and found that the supply is unconventional, that there are second-hand stores for Japanese street fashion, and that stores offering a change of clothes are also popular in Japan. Based on literature studies and online research, we designed a unisex hooded sweater for young anime fans to identify and socialize with the anime lifestyle. The quality of the knitted piece and its performance characteristics were also tested.
