In my bachelor thesis, I have been investigating the design system of so called ‘Galenic products’ for
Ljubljana’s pharmacies.
‘Galenic products’ are medications developed and produced by the pharmacies themselves. It is possible to obtain them without the prescription, which is beneficial to the user. However, they are still relatively unknown to the general public. Consumers often overlook a line of these products due to a lack of publicity on the
market. This consequentially results in a design that is visually outdated and somewhat forgotten.
This thesis aimed to develop ‘Galenic’ identity, which would potentially raise awareness among the consumers. Together with Ljubljana’s Pharmacy, a design system was developed to enable the unified product launch service. This includes the awareness issues, consumer habits, and product operation at the micro and macro levels. The final design would serve as a support system to pharmacies or offer better sale orientation of
current products.
In the future, however, it can act as a model used for the revitalization and launch of the new products
provided by pharmacies.
