Abstract
V diplomskem delu sem povzela do zdaj znane pomembnejše lastnosti bizmuta in kako se ta uporablja v medicini. V strokovni literaturi sem pregledala strukture in sintezne postopke bizmutovih kompleksov z 2,2´-bipiridinom in 1,10-fenantrolinom kot modelnima ligandoma. Pri tem sem se osredotočila na spojine s halogenidnimi in nitratnimi ligandi. V eksperimentalnem delu sem nekatere od sintez skušala ponoviti z 2,2´-bipiridinom. Cilj diplomske naloge je bil poskus izvedbe lažjih sinteznih postopkov iz strokovne literature z izbranim piridin-4,5-dikarboksilatnim estrom sintetiziranim v laboratoriju. Reakcije sem izvedla z bizmutovim kloridom in bizmutovim nitratom. Produkte sem karakterizirala z metodami masne spektrometrije visoke ločljivosti (HRMS), 1H NMR spektroskopijo in UV-Vis spektroskopijo.

Title:Analysis of synthetic procedures and structures of bismuth coordination compounds with nitrogen-binding ligands and planning of synthetic analog compounds with pyridine dicarboxylate esters
Abstract:
In my thesis, I summarized so far known important characteristics of bismuth and how it is used in medicine. In the professional literature, I have reviewed the structures and synthetic procedures of bismuth complexes with 2,2´-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline as model ligands. I focused on compounds with halogenido and nitrato ligands. In the experimental part, I tried to repeat some of the syntheses with 2,2´-bipyridine. The thesis aimed to perform some of the easier synthetic procedures from the scientific literature with a selected pyridine-4,5-dicarboxylate ester synthesized in the laboratory. I performed the reactions with bismuth chloride and bismuth nitrate. The products were characterized by high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), 1H NMR spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
