The method of care planning is very important for the user of social services and the improvement of his life. A good personal plan is also a reflection of good planning. I researched how care planning takes place in various organizations in the field of social care, where the method of care planning is a necessary practice. In the theoretical part, I described the basic characteristics of a care plan and planning steps, the structure of the plan and suggestions for how to write, the role of the planner and the limitations that can be encountered in planning. I also wrote something about the legislation, and briefly described each of the organizations that are included in the survey. The purpose of my research is to help improve the quality and uniform implementation of care plans in various social welfare organizations and identify potential needs of employees - planners in this area. I did this through overview of knowledge and skills of professional workers to implement the method of care planning and its importance for the user and for their further work with him. I found that professionals in the field of social care meet with the method of care planning for the first time at the faculty. In CUDV Črna na Koroškem, SVZ Hrastovec and VDC Koper, formal educations on the topic of care planning were organized as part of the job, but not in Retirement Home Ptuj. The ways in which plans are written, vary from organization to organization. Either analyzing a life story using a needs index or writing a story about life with user, who first sets their own goals, and then each service writes down goals for their field. A personal plan is often only part of the bureaucracy and method as such does not seem to them to be deficient. There is a lack of use of the method within the rules and laws, poor willingness to plan and a general lack of time. The care plan of the Ptuj Retirement Home is the only one written in the third person (the professional workers are telling things about the user), the other two care plans are written in the first person, so that the user tells us about himself. In the plans of CUDV Črna and VDC Koper, goals and wishes are related to life inside and outside the institution, while in the plan of Retirement Home Ptuj, the goals of care services are more related to social and health services that the user receives in institution and relate mostly to living in the institution. The use of the care planning method should be strengthened in practice, and education on this topic should necessarily be organized for all professionals within the job. Guidelines for the design of a personal plan should be more uniform for all social security organizations, and the care plan should include, the social services provided to the user in the institution and all other users goals, regardless of whether they relate to the institution or life in community.
