Abstract
V nadaljevanju sledi predstavitev tipnega indeksa v knjigi The Types of International Folktales, ki jo je napisal Hans-Jörg Uther. Z analizo knjige The Types of International Folktales je bilo ugotovljeno, v katerih kulturah se pojavljajo različice izbranih pravljic.

Title:
Propp's innovative app The historical roots of the magical fairy tale - mapping of selected Slovenian and Russian fairy tales
Abstract:
period family members read or narrate fairy tales to their children. With integration in a school system children start to discover fairy tales at their lessons. Fairy tales affect children and they help them at their personal growth. Furthermore, we can find a lot of cultural heritage in fairy tales. One fairy tale can have a lot of versions around the world. Because of that, children can learn about their own culture and about world cultures from fairy tales. In lessons we can appropriately use all of these qualities that fairy tales include. Main aims of our master thesis were to find fairy tales that are the most similar to each other from collection of Slovenian folk tales and Russian fairy tales and to compare each of them with categories and subcategories from the Propp’s book Historical Roots of the Magical Fairy Tale. And then, according to ATU of selected fairy tales use mapping and present where versions of these fairy tales appear on the world map. In the theoretical part we presented meaning of mapping in children’s literature. We analysed individual works that include mapping in Slovenia and are appropriate to use in primary schools. We included and presented learning aims about use and understanding of maps in lower grades in primary school. Then we presented type numbers in book The Types of International Folktales by Hans-Jörg Uther. We continued with descriptions of Slovenian and Russian folk literature and Propp’s ideas from Historical Roots of the Magical Fairy Tale. At the end we presented the impact that fairy tales have on children. In the empirical part we used document analysis to research both collections of fairy tales. We used comparative literary analysis to compare selected fairy tales. We compared them with Propp’s ideas from the Historical Roots of the Magical Fairy Tale. With analysis of book The Types of International Folktales we find out in which cultures we can find versions of those fairy tales. With analysis of different literature about cultures and languages of the world and use of mapping we presented where these cultures are located on the map. Results of comparative literary analysis according to Propp’s theory showed that selected Slovenian and Russian fairy tales have a lot of common characteristics. We could include Slovenian and Russian fairy tales in most of Propp’s categories and subcategories. From mapping we can conclude that all selected fairy tales appear in numerous cultures of the world. Most of the cultures are common to all of selected fairy tales.
