Nowadays, website design is one of the most important aspects of the Internet. Users from different age groups are using the Web more and more, so it is crucial to provide them with websites that are easy to use and prove to be efficient, while also keeping the websites aesthetically pleasing to keep the user returning to them. A few different fields explore these aspects of the Web, namely the fields of user experience, web accessibility and usability.
In this thesis, we focus on improving the informational structure, visual and interaction design of a European student association EESTEC. We do this by first analysing the user experience of other associations' websites, and then centre on improving the existing website. We concentrate on providing accessibility and enhancing its usability. Finally, we present the prototype we have developed and the improvements we implemented.
