Abstract
Predstaviti njihova delovišča v Sloveniji in na Hrvaškem skozi zgodovino vse do danes, način dela z bolnimi, področja delovanja in način izobraževanja. Razprava in zaključek: Šolske sestre sv. Frančiška Kristusa Kralja, ki so delovale v zdravstvenih ustanovah, upadalo, saj so jih nadomestile t. i. »neposvetne sestre«.

Abstract:
Introduction: Nursing care for patients was in the past primarily women's role. Like many other monastic communities the school sisters of St. Francis Christ the King was also engaged in nursing and nurturing patients. Purpose: The purpose of this work is to collect and put together historical sources about nursing and nurturing patients in the school sisters of St. Francis Christ the King. To introduce all places where they have worked in Slovenia, Croatia and through the history till today on different perspectives: work method, work field, education. Methods: Critical analysis of historical sources which are related to the school sister of St. Francis Christ the King (nursing patients) and descriptional method for analysis of interviews. All historical articles have been checked in journal Obzornik (key words: History of nursing). Results: The sisters of St. Francis Christ the King took part in nursing patients during first World War in Slovenia, but after the war also in Croatia. They weren't educated at first, but before second World War they started to get profession in nursing. All sisters St. Francis Christ the King who were interviewed were educated nurses, who are or were employed in health institutions. Sisters-nurses didn't feel discriminated because they belong to nun community which provides them to give spiritual help and support to patients. Discussion and Conclusion: The primary role of sisters of St. Francis Christ the King is to educate the young but they also took the 'job' of nursing. In the first World War the need for nursing staff was huge, so sisters took care of soldiers. They continued with nursing after the War and also got nursing education. After the second World War their number had fallen because they were replaced with 'uninitiated sisters'. Some sisters of St. Francis Christ the King work in healthcare even today, but their number is low.
