This diploma thesis focuses on the period from 1950 to 1971 and describes the main events and development of the rise of mass livestock farming in Slovenia. Shows the whole process of farming improvement after the Second World War and presents the most important experts in agriculture. Work of Zmago Hrušovar and his co-workers is present throughout the whole path of establishing new technological ways for the farms and animal care. The beginning of the diploma thesis begins a few years after the war and shows the difficult situations for the community, political and economic system and presents the introduction of ideas for better care and better environment for the agricultural sector. The work encompasses important political and economic events related to agriculture in the mentioned period and describes detailed development of Farma Ihan and Agrokombinat Emona under the management of Zmago Hrušovar. The work focuses on important achievements for the evolution of Slovenian farming through the biography of Zmago Hrušovar and his business career. The thesis shows the brief development of poultry and cattle farming but in the centre of thesis represents pig farming. It describes different models that agronomists followed and how important Slovenia was for the young, educated people, who stayed here and represented various new ideas for helping with hunger and economic stagnation.
