Abstract
V okviru magistrskega dela je bila izvedena optimizacija procesa čelnega frezanja izbranega tankostenskega tlačno litega izdelka iz aluminijeve litine. Cilj optimizacije je bil doseči čim lepši izgled površine s hrapavostjo pod tolerančno mejo postavljeno s strani kupca in čim višjo produktivnostjo procesa. V magistrskem delu so predstavljene teoretične osnove litja, frezanja, integritete površine in metode načrtovanja eksperimentov. V delu so predstavljeni rezultati izvedbe eksperimenta, regresijski modeli, optimizacija procesnih parametrov in analiza rezultatov frezanja. S tem smo ugotovili, kateri parametri dajejo najboljše rezultate vizualne analize in hrapavosti pri najvišji produktivnosti.

Title:Optimization of machining parameters of face milling on a thin-walled aluminium casting
Abstract:
In this master's thesis, the process of face milling of a selected thin-walled aluminium die-cast product was optimized. The goal of the optimization was to achieve the best possible surface appearance, with roughness below the tolerance limit set by the customer and highest possible process productivity. In this master’s thesis, the theoretical foundations of casting, milling, surface integrity and method of designing experiments are presented. Following theoretical foundations, description of the material – machine – tool system used, planning and subsequent execution of experiments is explained. Optimization was performed using the Taguchi L9 orthogonal matrix as experimental design method. Thesis presents the results of experiment, regression models, optimization of process parameters and analysis of milling results. Using these, it is determined which parameters give the most optimal results of visual analysis, surface roughness at the highest possible productivity.
