In my diploma thesis I present our woodworking shop, its size and the crucial problems that we face due to a lack of space that prevents us from expanding our production, buying new, bigger machinery and increasing the number of employees. I present both our machinery and the critical disadvantages we face. As a representative of our production program, I have chosen an office rack for paper binders, books, and other documents. I placed the basic building shape that can be built on land that we have purchased. I soon realized that for the size of production that we would like to have we will need two floors. I then tried to reasonably place all the machinery on both floors while taking into account the requirements of the machines and the order in which they need to be placed to get a nice production flow. I evaluated the average running time to get realistic electrical consumption figures. I evaluated the investment needed to produce the building and purchase all the machinery that we would need in order to obtain an efficient production process.
