Abstract
Magistrska naloga obravnava temo glasbe kot vzgojnega sredstva v predšolski vzgoji, podrobneje preučuje, kakšna stališča imajo vzgojitelji/ce o vzgojnem vplivu glasbe za otrokov celostni razvoj in na kakšen način omenjena stališča vplivajo na njihovo strokovno delo v procesu predšolske vzgoje, to je na njihovo izvajanje glasbenih aktivnosti. Ker je glasba pomembna oblika umetnosti, se magistrska naloga najprej dotakne koncepta vzgoje preko umetnosti, pomena umetnosti in glasbe za posameznikov celostni razvoj in v sklopu tega že izvedenih raziskav, ki so poskušale dokazati pozitiven vpliv glasbe na posameznikov celostni razvoj ter njihove pomanjkljivosti. V nadaljevanju je predstavljen Kurikulum za vrtce (1999), znotraj katerega je definiran položaj umetnosti, oblike rabe umetnosti v procesu predšolske vzgoje in njeni cilji. Nadalje se magistrska naloga osredotoči na realnost izvajanja vzgojno-izobraževalnega procesa na področju predšolske vzgoje in na prisotnost ter ciljno usmerjenost glasbenih aktivnosti, kar je odvisno predvsem od stališč in mišljenj vzgojiteljev/ic. V sklopu empirične raziskave so predstavljena stališča vzgojiteljev/ic o vzgojni vrednosti glasbe, ki so bila pridobljena z intervjuji, in analizirane njihove glasbene aktivnosti, ki jih izvajajo v drugem starostnem obdobju predšolske vzgoje. Na podlagi omenjenih empiričnih podatkov so predstavljene ugotovitve o tem, ali stališča vzgojiteljic o vzgojni vrednosti glasbe vplivajo na njihovo strokovno delo na področju glasbene vzgoje ali ne.

Title:Music as the medium of education: the influence of preschool teachers' attitudes towards educational value of music on its presence in the daily routine of preschool institutions
Abstract:
This master's thesis focuses on the topic of music as a medium of education. It focuses on the attitude of preschool teachers towards the importance of music for children's holistic development, and endeavours to define if and how these attitudes affect their professional work in the process of preschool education, in more detail their music activities. Since music is an important form of art, the master's thesis firstly centers on the concept of education through the arts, on the importance of art and music for individual holistic development, and on the researches, which were already carried out attempting to prove the positive importance of music on individual development and their shortcomings. Furthermore the Kindergarten Curriculum (1999) is presented, within which the master’s thesis approaches the position of the arts in the preschool education, different forms of art application that are involved in the process of pre-school education and its aims. Afterwards the master's thesis focuses on the reality of the implementation of the educational process in the field of preschool education, the presence and goals of music activities, which depends primarily on the opinions of preschool teachers. The empiric part of this master’s thesis presents the attitudes of preschool teacher towards the educational values of music and the analysis of their music activities. On the basis of obtained empirical data, the conclusions are made, whether or not the attitudes of educators on the educational value of music affect their professional work in the field of music education.
