Globalization and technology development have changed the employees' role. Today, the knowledge of employees is one of the key competitive advantages of companies. Employees thus represent the largest asset of companies. Investments in employee development, education, and training are the foundation of the successful operation of the company. They contribute to greater competitiveness of the company and employee productivity. The key is investing in the knowledge that employees can acquire and transfer into the work environment quickly and effectively, as this is the only way for companies to constantly adapt to changes in the labour market. Therefore, companies must regularly systematically upgrade, maintain and evaluate the knowledge of employees through regular education. In the theoretical part of the diploma theses, I defined concepts such as the importance of knowledge, learning organization, training in the organization, measuring the effects of education, human resource management, business performance of the company, and business performance indicators In the empirical part, based on company Lek d. d., I examined the importance and course of employee education. With the help of quantitative data analysis, I examined how investments in education impact a company's performance. I found that variables such as the average number of hours of education per employee, net profit per employee, and the coefficients of economy, productivity, and profitability are not statistically significantly related.
