Abstract

Title:Old-age pensions in Slovenia and young people
Abstract:
Topics such as the pension system and related old-age pensions are becoming increasingly important topics, not only in Slovenia but also in general. Due to various, mainly changing demographic trends, the ratio between the working population and pension recipients is increasingly disproportionate. The Slovenian pension system is based on the so-called intergenerational agreement. As the country is aware of this great problem, it is adopting various reforms, which, very generally speaking, are trying to keep the working population in the labour market for as long as possible. The aim of the diploma work is to study and present the views and opinions of young people regarding the current pension system and future pensions. The modernization of the pension system, with a focus on the young generation, is what is expected to bring about positive change. In the current, existing pension system, the active population is increasingly burdened, including with regard to the payment of funds for future pensions, and at the same time there is a danger that the current pension system will not provide them with pensions that would allow them a safe old age. There is a lack of interest for the chosen topic ¬¬-which consequently leads to poor knowledge about it. They look at the pension system rather from a negative point of view, mainly in terms of low pensions and excessive differences between them.I see the solution primarily in taking into account the views and opinions of young people as they are an important part of civil society, in this ways they will think more about their future pensions and the future associated with them.

Keywords:Pension system, old - age pensions, development of the pension system, youth, future of the pension system.
