Abstract

Title:Shepard interpolation
Abstract:
In this Master's Thesis we study general approaches of the point interpolation problem. Then we focus on the Shepard interpolation method on the scattered data points in two dimensions. We try to improve the interpolant by using locality, derivatives and by adding a triangulation to data points. First we test the presented methods with an analytical function, and then we move on to real geodetic data obtained from the mountain Šmarna gora, which is located near Ljubljana.

Keywords:interpolation, Shepard, scattered data, inverse distance, operator
